When we cut the culture out of the budget, we remove an important part of our identity. Sct. Johns Eve at Engen, which has been held since 1953, stands to be cut away. This have provoked protest and stir among alot of people in Odense. It is in this context, this project came to light. A protest Ornament. One way to bring people together under one banner, #kulturenslukkes’.

The culture is quenched' is beautiful and yet agressive. It is a unique type of communication design called a protest ornament, in this case portraying a fist quenching the flames of a bonfire. The bonfire representing Sct. John Eve or culture in general is designed in Adobe Illustrator and afterward lasercut in wood.
